Apple to Reportedly Use 5G Modems From Both Qualcomm and Samsung for Its 2020 iPhone Range – Shipment Predictions Have Also Increased

Shortly after the announcement of the release of Intel 5G modems sector, Apple was forced to settle with Qualcomm and use its chips for its future iPhones. But no one has said that Samsung is the second largest supplier to the Cupertino-based company.

According to a report by Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at Apple, the company will look for a second supplier and it will most likely be Samsung. This will give the company some weight when negotiating prices and also reduce its dependence on a single supplier. So in 2020, we can expect iPhones to come with Qualcomm and Samsung chips.

It also confirms that the 2019 iPhones will not be compatible with the 5G, but to be honest, the road is still long before the 5G reaches a critical mass. Ming-Chi Kuo also believes that 5G will significantly increase iPhone sales in 2020.
